🌼 About the garden project
Just over a year ago, Cowick Roots & Recreation were awarded a city grant from Exeter City Council to create a Community Wellbeing Garden in Pinces Gardens.
Since then, volunteers and local residents have transformed what was once a neglected corner into a thriving space for reflection, learning and connection — where nature and community spirit grow side by side.
In the past year alone, the project has hosted over 49 facilitated gardening sessions, creating opportunities for people to come together, build skills, and spend time in nature. If you have spent any time enjoying the space (and we know lots of you do) then you will already know what a sucess this project is.
Visitors & Volunteers say:
“It feels like a gift to the neighbourhood.”
“I’ve lived here for years but only really started feeling connected to my community through the garden.”
“A visit to the garden makes me feel calmer.”
Funds raised from this event will help us continue to grow and care for this shared space now that our funded project is complete.
