Join us as we begin planning for America’s 250th birthday in 2026! This special event is an opportunity for residents, organizations, and businesses to come together and share ideas for how Lyon County can play a meaningful role in this historic celebration.
Hosted by the Lyon County History Center and the Emporia Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), the event will include:
✅ A brief history of past celebrations of America’s birthdays
âś… An idea-sharing session to explore potential themes and programs
âś… Insights from community partners like the Emporia Arts Center and Emporia Public Library
America 250 is a moment for Lyon County, Kansas, to shine! Let’s create a commemoration that reflects the diversity, spirit, and rich history of our nation and our community!
