Planning Ahead Workshop Series

Planning ahead isn’t about making big decisions today—it’s about understanding your options so you’re not forced to make them under pressure later. This free workshop is designed to help families start conversations around finances, the home, and future needs in a way that feels manageable and not overwhelming. We’ll cover areas like financial planning, home organization, and long-term living considerations—including staying in your home, making adjustments over time, or downsizing—while encouraging thoughtful next steps with the right professionals.

You’ll hear from a financial advisor with Appalachian Financial Literacy Group, Erin MacNamara of Carlisle Home Organizers, Shannon Costill of Soldiers Hauling, and local REALTOR® Heather Kerstetter. Each will share practical insight from their area of expertise, followed by time for questions. You’ll also have time at the end to connect one-on-one, ask questions, and start thinking through what planning ahead looks like for you and your family.

This workshop is for both seniors and adult children—whether you’re planning ahead for yourself or walking alongside a parent. If nothing has happened yet but you know it’s time to start thinking ahead, this is a place to begin.
