About this Event

Have you heard of the nine Planetary Boundaries?

These are that represent key systems on Earth that enable life to exist and thrive on our planet. Crossing these boundaries could result in dangerous levels of environmental change, and as of 2023, we have already left the safe zone on at least six of them.

Join us to find out what these boundaries are, the status of each, and how the food on our forks plays a crucial role in staying within bounds, or in pushing our planet further into increasing levels of danger.

Dinner is Served.

Plus, enjoy a delicious dinner designed to support the ongoing habitability of our beloved Earth.

Offered on a Donation Basis.

Donations to support the nonprofit are greatly appreciated!

Expert Panelists

Mohan Gurunathan is an engineer, entrepreneur, and activist who has lived and worked in Silicon Valley for 25 years. He is an expert on food systems and sustainability, and has been vegan for the past 12 years. Mohan is a frequent Bay Area speaker on the topic of the environmental and social impacts of our individual diet choices.

Mohan played a leading role in convincing the City of Mountain View to include plant-based diet promotion as a part of their 2019 Environmental Sustainability Plan. He also serves as an advisor and/or board member for numerous environmental and animal advocacy nonprofits.

Mohan splits his time between animal and environmental advocacy, engineering consulting, his work on a plant-based food business, and spending time with his family. He earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from M.I.T.

Jan Liband is a long time vegan and fact-based environmental issues advocate, public speaker, athlete and musician. In the 1980’s, Mr. Liband learned how our industrial food systems were neither sustainable nor healthy, while also inflicting enormous cruelty on animals. As a result, he made big changes in his personal life and committed himself to researching and advocating solutions to these critical global issues.

Mr. Liband is a former Silicon Valley executive and holds a degree in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz. He also works with the producers of the award-winning documentary, Eating Our Way to Extinction, to present at hosted screenings.

Rev. Beth Love is the founder and Executive Director of Eat for the Earth and the author of the Tastes Like Love book series. A gifted speaker, facilitator, teacher, and ordained New Thought minister, Beth has motivated and educated people in diverse contexts such as nonprofit organizations, schools, churches, businesses, and the California State Pr*son system. She has inspired large and small audiences, in-person and through radio and television, from local community TV to The Oprah Winfrey Show. Due to her concern about the contribution of animal agriculture to the climate crisis and other environmental issues, Beth started Eat for the Earth, an organization that supports a human dietary shift towards more plants and less animal products to sustain all life on Earth.
