This August, we gather under the sign of the Iron Man.
Ding Dong Lounge presents Planet Caravan: A Farewell to Ozzy — a two-level tribute to the Prince of Darkness, the godfather of heavy metal, and the voice that changed rock forever.
Whether you first heard him through a crackling cassette, a midnight radio show, or a mosh pit that felt like church, Ozzy Osbourne left a mark on all of us. Now that he’s taken his final bow, we’re throwing one hell of a send-off — the way only Tāmaki Makaurau’s rock community can.
Dead Witch: Ozzy & Sabbath Tribute Jam Session
From “War Pigs” to “Fairies Wear Boots,” local musicians will take the stage to perform their favourite Sabbath and solo Ozzy tracks. Some have never played together. Some have played these songs since they were teens. It’ll be raw, loud, and full of heart. The first half of the night is structured — a lineup of pre-selected performers. Later, the stage opens up. If you know the riffs and feel the call, you might just get your moment in the madness.

Black Sabbath, Ozzy deep cuts, and the heavy sounds that followed — spun by DJs who know the weight of a good riff. Expect doom, groove, and the kind of tracks that make you close your eyes and throw the horns.
This isn’t just a party. It’s a tribute. A thank you. A night to howl at the moon and remember why we fell in love with the weird, the wild, and the heavy.
