Placer Theatre Ballet Nutcracker Auditions 2026

Welcome to the Placer Theatre Ballet 2026 Nutcracker Auditions!

We are so excited that you're interested in joining the Placer Theatre Ballet family for our 2026 production of The Nutcracker!

This year's auditions will be held at Opal Studios (former NCDC studios), 920 Reserve Dr, Roseville.

Dancers who are at least 5 years old by September 1, 2026, are eligible to participate.

Please remember to save the date for your assigned audition time and watch your email for additional audition information, reminders, and any important updates.

Ages 5-6 years old. Saturday, August 8th. Check-in 1:00PM, Audition 1:30PM-2:30PM
Ages 7-8 years old. Saturday, August 8th. Check-in 2:00PM, Audition 2:30PM-3:30PM
Ages 9-10 years old. Saturday, August 8th, Check-in 3:30PM, Audition 4:00PM-5:30PM
Ages 11-12 years old. Saturday, August 8th. Check-in 5:00PM, Audition 5:30PM-7:00PM
Ages 13-14 years old. Sunday, August 9th. Check-in 9:00AM, Audition 9:30AM-11:00AM
Ages 15-17 years old. Sunday, August 9th. Check-in 10:30AM, Audition 11:00AM-1:00PM
Ages 18+. Sunday, August 16th. Check-in 9:30AM, Audition 9:45AM-11:00AM

P.S. Save the Date! We will be holding a free community workshop on Saturday, August 25th from 10:30AM-1:00PM at Opal Studios. This is your chance to meet the new Artistic Directors, see some new costumes, and even learn some new choreography! We will be releasing more info on this workshop soon!

Dress is proper ballet attire:

• Girls: leotards and tights, ballet shoes; hair in a ballet bun
• Boys: tights/shorts, solid black or white t-shirt, ballet shoes; hair neat and off face

• No additional tops, pants, shorts, skirts etc. during auditions.
• Please note, your dancer may be asked to stay longer than the posted audition times if needed.
• Roles may change, be added or eliminated, depending on available dancers.
• Not every dancer is guaranteed a role.
