Have you heard about Iceland's “Jólabókaflóð”?
This is a special tradition in Iceland, and it translates to “Christmas Book Flood,” referring to the annual release of new books occurring in the months before Christmas. The new books are purchased and presented as Christmas Eve presents and are enjoyed the rest of the evening, sometimes even with a chocolate treat.
On Thursday, November 19th, from 6:00 - 6:30 p.m., come in your PJs for this evening storytime for all ages and listen to a story about the Christmas Book Flood. Each child in attendance will receive a book and a hot cocoa packet to enjoy their own version of Jólabókaflóð at home.
Registration is not required.
