Six wonderful short films made by real Maidstone people! Come and see!
About this Event

Between March and May 2026, Funder Films made six films with with six wonderful individuals in Maidstone.

The films are all between 8 and 11 minutes long and the line-up is fantastically varied: bicycling in the Paddock Wood area in the late 1950s; a very poignant visit to Kenya in 2008; learning how to be a motor mechanic in 1960s New Cross; caring across three generations in Dorset and Kent; a thank you to a dad who held a family together after the death of his wife; and we've even got a real life mystery... who was Joe Fisher and where did he come from?

Screening will take place at Maidstone Museum in Faith Street. Please arrive between 1800 and 1830 for a 1830 start.

Seating is unreserved but we are asking people to let us know if they are attending through Eventbrite so that we know how many to expect. The screening is free but we will be taking donations so that people can contribute to future editions of PixtoFlix. (A card reader will be available!)

PixtoFlix is a project run by Funder Films for people living with dementia and their carers. This is the fifth iteration of the project and this phase has been funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

For more information about Funder Films and PixtoFlix please see: https://funderfilms.com/

For more information about the Astor Theatre please see: https://www.theastor.co.uk/

The screening will last about an hour and we will be serving refreshments at the end.
