Pivoting & Embracing Change Women in Agriculture Scotland AGM 2026
About this Event
Change can be daunting. It can also be where the magic happens.
Join Women in Agriculture Scotland for Pivoting & Embracing Change – our 2026 AGM and a fantastic FREE day of inspiration, practical learning, honest conversations and connection.
Whether it’s diversifying a farm, turning a passion into a business, reaching new customers, changing career or navigating an unexpected turn in life, sometimes the biggest opportunities begin with being brave enough to pivot.
And we’ve got a brilliant line-up of women to inspire you.
🌾 Jenny McKerr – Forth Mains Farm
First-generation farmer and rural entrepreneur Jenny McKerr has spent the past decade building a diverse farming business from the ground up.
Alongside producing Scotch Beef and Scotch Lamb, Forth Mains Farm is now home to The Wee Farm Distillery, Steak & Still Farm Shop, rural accommodation, farm experiences and an event space.
In 2026, the business received the King’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development, while its home-reared lamb achieved three stars at the Great Taste Awards.
Jenny will share the highs, challenges and lessons of diversification – and why sometimes you simply have to trust your idea and crack on!
🍴 Lauren Gourlay – Lauren’s Cravings
From a passion project started in 2018 to a thriving full-time career, Lauren Gourlay has built Lauren’s Cravings into a successful food platform with a large online audience.
After 12 years with Scottish Water, Lauren took the leap into a creative career. Today, her work champions British and Scottish produce, provenance, seasonality and food standards.
Lauren will share the realities of changing direction, building a career without a roadmap and why a pivot doesn’t mean starting again – it can mean building something even better.
📱 Stand Out on Instagram – The Countryside Way
Think making social media work means becoming a full-time content creator? Think again!
Join Sue Emery of Rural Business Matters for a practical workshop helping you create stand-out, reusable content that can turn scrollers into customers.
No performing. No dancing for the algorithm. Just practical marketing you can actually use.
🔪 Live Butchery in the Ring
See Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) butcher Pippa Anderson in action with a live butchery demonstration in the ring – connecting what happens on farm with the food that reaches the consumer.
💚 Judith Crawford – Supporting Rural Communities
After 14 years in hospital medicine, predominantly Oncology, Judith Crawford made her own career pivot into the third sector.
Judith now works with The Farming Community Network in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, raising awareness of cancer and the support available to farming and rural communities.
She’ll share more about this important work and the help available when life takes an unexpected turn.
