Pity Party | Comedy Special Taping | July 9th Vancouver BC

Pity Party is a joint comedy album by Arya Afshar, Andrea Feltrin, and Lai Lai Liu. Having spent the past few years delighting Vancouver’s audiences with their dating foibles, missed opportunities and pitiful life decisions that haunt their past (and very present), they’re putting all their best material together, and taping it for everyone beyond Vancouver to see! It’s a pity party and you’re all invited!

ARYA AFSHAR is an Iranian comedian based in Vancouver. Known for blending transgressive political commentary with low-brow humor, Arya has become a regular on local shows, and has been featured in Just for Laughs in 2025 and 2026.

ANDREA FELTRIN is a filmmaker and comedian based in so-called Vancouver. Having worked in the film industry for over a decade, she’s very tired and doesn’t have much to show for it. She produced the 2025 Crazy8s film THE REVEAL by Jackie Hoffart and has served as a comedy writer, story editor, and producer on various TV projects that died in development. Despite her lack of success in both film and comedy, she delusionally carries on doing what she loves because she’s in too deep. Her comedic style is mostly self-deprecating, drawing from personal misfortunes and stupidity.
LAI LAI LIU is a Beijing-born, Vancouver-based comedian. With a comedic style that is equal parts silly, awkward, and complaining with pizzazz, she yaps about everything in her life that she can’t believe is happening to her (or because of her?). She is one quarter of the comedy collective Community Clowns, which produces Open Mic(Helle), an inclusive open mic for underrepresented voices.

Pity Party wil be hosted at Chill x Studio in Mount Pleasant on Thursday July 9th.
