Pittsburgh Global Game Jam 2026

DeATe and the Entertainment Technology Center @ CMU along with the Pittsburgh IGDA chapter are happy to annouce the 2026 Pittsburgh Global Game Jam! The Global Game Jam is being held from Friday January 30th - Sunday February 1st and will be taking place at Sorrells Library in Wean Hall on Carnegie Mellon University's main campus.

This year we're moving things around a bit for both the opening day (Friday) and the jam weekend. Friday we will have the jam kickoff from 6:30pm - 9pm. This will include the opening keynote and a chance to meet your fellow jammers, brainstorm, and form teams!

Then on Saturday and Sunday we'll be moving to Sorrells Library in Wean Hall. We'll be starting at 9am each day with Saturday running until midnight and Sunday we'll be finishing up with the closing ceremony from 2-5pm!

Friday Jan 30th - Kickoff Ceremony (location TBA)
- 6:30pm - 9pm - Opening kickoff and team bonding

Saturday Jan 31st - Saturday jamming
- 9am - 12midnight - All day jamming

Sunday Feb 1st - Sunday jam + Closing Ceremony
- 9am - 2pm - Jamming
- 3pm - 5pm - Jam showcase + Closing

Jammers will have daily access to the site to build and jam on their games. And with your registration everyone is given a t-shirt and pizza/snacks/drinks throughout the weekend. The Global Game Jam is a worldwide jam event held annually where thousands of people across hundreds of sites all make games based around a singular theme in just one weekend. Global Game Jam is open to all people including students, hobbyists, professionals, and anyone interested in making games!

Each registration comes with the following benefits:
* Global Game Jam site access on Saturday and Sunday
* Pizza lunch for both Saturday and Sunday
* Snacks and drinks throughout the event
* Pittsburgh Global Game Jam 2026 t-shirt

Registration is PAID and is $35 per person. Please register a ticket and you will be contacted afterwards with payment methods to handle. There will be discounts for students (IDeATe and CMU students) so be sure to register with the appropriate code.
