Pitch-A-Book Night | Denver
About this Event
Come for the books. Stay for the people.
You know that feeling when you finish a book so good you want to grab a stranger off the street and make them read it? That's this whole night.
Pitch-A-Book Night is a Denver meetup for readers who want to talk about books, really talk about them, with people who are just as obsessed with the plot as you are. Attendees take turns pitching a book they loved: what it's about, why it wrecked them in the best way, why everyone needs to read it. No spoilers. Just pure, unfiltered enthusiasm.
What to expect:
- No assigned reading: Come with whatever book has been living in your head rent-free.
- No silent reading circles: This is conversation, debate, and real connection.
- No dumping ground: Every pitch is a book someone genuinely loved, not one they're trying to offload.
- Direct access to the people behind the recommendations: Ask questions, swap opinions, geek out, exchange numbers and make a book buddy for life.
Who should come: Genre-hoppers, series-defenders, "just one more chapter" readers, and anyone tired of book events that don't actually let you talk about books.
How the night works:
🕕 6:30–7:30pm - Pitch Hour: Attendees who want to pitch get up to 5 minutes to sell the room on a book they loved. Pitching is strongly encouraged but not required — come listen if that's more your speed.
🕢 7:30–8:30pm - Open Discussion: The floor opens up for smaller, casual conversations. Chat 1:1 or in small groups with fellow readers about what they're reading, what they've loved, and dig deeper into any pitches that caught your ear.
🌇 After 8:30pm - Keep on vibing! Since we're in the park, feel free to keep the conversation going as long as you'd like. Just clean up after yourself before you head out.
What to bring:
- A blanket to sit on
- Bring your own snacks & drinks
- The book you're pitching, if you have a copy (not required to pitch, just a nice touch if you've got it)
What you'll leave with: A stacked reading list, a few new reading buddies, and maybe, if the stars align, a book club of your own that finally matches your genre to a T.
