Pistol Mounted Optics/Red Dot Class

Class is taught by Tom Helbig in the Action Bay. I have been using a red dot on my self defense handguns for 15 years. I personally have taken many classes using and the use of pistol mounted optics. Seeing a need for local instruction, I enrolled in a law enforcement pistol mounted optics instructor class. In my opinion, the use of an optic in a high stress situation is no different for an officer or an armed law abiding citizen. We will cover Marksmanship, Zeroing, presentation and draw, target focused shooting, target transitions, multiple shots, close quarter shooting, target descrimination, balancing speed and accuracy, understanding limitations, dot failure and remedial action, obscured lens. This class will build skills for threat focused shooting and optic use.

Students need to bring:

Pistol with a mounted optical sight, preferably sighted in

Holster

3 magazines, more if using low capacity magazines

300 rounds of ammunition

Eye Protection

Ear Protection

Hat is strongly recommended

Food/ Drinks
