Come see Cambridgeshire Light Opera Group’s Pirates of Penzance. Wednesday 17th June through Saturday 20th June - evening shows at 7.30pm and a matinee on Saturday at 2.30 pm. Frederic, an apprentice pirate, falls head over ears in love with Mabel, one of Major-General Stanley’s daughters. Frederic believes he has just been released from his apprenticeship due to turning 21 that day, however his birthday - the 29th February - means he is considered a little boy of five and has many more years of duty to the Pirates. As a slave to duty, Frederic is now torn between his conflicting duties to the Pirates and Mabel. As always Gilbert unties these knots at the last possible moment and Frederic (hopefully) learns his lesson about blindly following duty.
