Step into our historic Federal-era tavern and immerse yourself in the golden age of piracy and privateering. Throughout the evening, you will hear tales of pirates and poachers who once ruled the waterways, while enjoying historically inspired punches and light fare.
As the night unfolds, The Rappahannock Whalers will bring the tavern to life with raucous sea shanties—performed as they were in the age of sail.
Whether you are a history buff, a lover of adventure, or simply looking for a unique night out, the Rising Sun Tavern promises an experience you won’t soon forget!
This is an adult 21+ event with two sessions: 5 to 6:30 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $35.00 each for Washington Heritage Museums members and $40.00 each for non-members. Tickets are non-refundable after four days of purchase. Please note that photography is taken at all WHM events and may be used for promotional, social media, and marketing purposes.
