What do The Godfather, Jaws, Rocky, Alien, Grease and Halloween have in common? They all emerged from one of the wildest and most influential decades in American movie history.
Join fellow Seahawks for Pints with Professors: The 1970s – The Wildest Decade in American Cinema, featuring UNCW Film Studies faculty Dr. Carlos Kase and Dr. Todd Berliner.
Together, they’ll explore the films, filmmakers and cultural shifts that transformed American cinema in the 1970s — and continue to influence what we watch today.
Plus, go behind the scenes at UNCW’s University Film Center! Explore the building at your own pace, hear from faculty and students and see the spaces where today’s Seahawks develop their craft and bring stories to the screen.
Registration includes:
🎟️ Admission to the presentation
🎥 Self-guided University Film Center tour
🍺 Commemorative pint glass
🍴 Heavy hors d’oeuvres
🍷 Beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages
Space is limited! Please RSVP by Wednesday, October 21.
Whether you’re a film buff, a fan of ’70s classics or just curious about what made the decade so wild, grab a pint and join us for an evening of film, conversation and Seahawk connection.
