Eradicate Polio one pint at a time this World Polio Day with Frederick County Rotarians!
Polio, an infectious disease that can cause paralysis, is endemic in just two countries: Afghanistan and Pakistan. The development of polio vaccines in the mid-twentieth century and a robust international response have helped more than one hundred countries become polio-free. Yet, new cases in the United States and Israel in 2022 underscored the risk that, until it is eradicated globally, polio can make a comeback in any part of the world.
On World Polio Day 2025, the Rotary Clubs in Frederick County are coming together to raise funds to end polio worldwide!
Join us on Tuesday, October 21st from 5PM to 7:30PM at Rockwell Brewery Riverside. Rockwell will be donating a portion of beer sales and South Mountain Creamery Ice Cream will be available with funds going to end polio, too! Plus, we'll have a pumpkin contest ready for judging and, for the kiddos, we'll have pumpkins for decorating!
