🍺 Pints & Perspectives at The Packhorse🗣️ Cave Exploration & Rescue with John Volanthen
🗓️ Monday 18th May 7pm
We are delighted to welcome John Volanthen, one of the world’s leading cave rescue divers, for a truly unforgettable evening.
John played a pivotal role in the extraordinary Tham Luang cave rescue – the dramatic 2018 mission that captured global attention.
After 12 young boys and their coach became trapped deep inside a flooded cave system in Thailand, rescue teams from around the world raced against time, rising water, and near-impossible conditions.
It was John and his diving partner who located the group alive, more than a week after they went missing, deep within the cave system.
What followed was one of the most complex and high-risk rescue operations ever attempted – involving thousands of people, extreme underwater navigation, and life-or-death decision making.
🎬 The story was later brought to the big screen in Thirteen Lives, with John portrayed by Colin Farrell
This is your chance to hear the real story — the challenges, the risks, and what it truly takes to operate in one of the most dangerous environments on earth.
