Pine Point will once again be celebrating the 4th of July with our Annual Parade and “Fun Run” for kids (ages 3 to 12).
Registration for the Fun Run begins at 7:45 a.m. at Engine 4 Fire Station, 12 King St. This year we will have TWO Runs, one for kids ages 8-12 starting at 8:45, and one for kids 3-7 beginning right afterward.
The “Fun Run” begins at 8:45 a.m. from the Fire Station and will end ¼ mile down King St. to Hurd Park (the municipal parking lot, 64 King St). The kids who finish first in each age group will carry the American Flags and lead the parade. Every child is a winner in our race and all will be presented with a very cool gold medal.
The Parade begins at 9:00 a.m. starting at Hurd Park and finishing at the Engine 4 Firehouse.
Everyone will gather at Engine 4 for Prizes and gifts to be awarded for the “a unique or unusually creatively decorated”... child, bike, wagon, and dog in the parade.
The winners of the Fun Run and the Grand Marshall will also be announced at the Fire Station.
We are honored to have some Veterans from the Maine Veterans Home join us again this year and encourage everyone to visit outside their vans after the parade.
Everyone is invited to enjoy complimentary traditional Strawberry Shortcake served inside Engine 4 firehouse. Kids & Veterans are served first!
Please spread the word and share this post so we have the greatest participation in our 23 year history.
Donations gratefully accepted at the shortcake tables.
WEATHER:
If the weather is questionable on the 4th, a decision to postpone to Sunday, July 5th will be posted by 7:30 AM on our Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/groups/pinepointparade
If we have to cancel on the 5th due to weather, we will still be offering Strawberry Shortcake. Please send someone down to the Fire Station for some strawberry shortcake for your family. Please bring something to carry the bowls in. We don’t want it to go to waste!
