✨ Pilates 101 Series ✨Learn the roots. Build the foundation. Experience the method.
Ready to truly understand Pilates—not just do it?
Our Pilates 101 Series is a progressive, educational experience designed to teach you the history, principles, and foundational movements of Pilates, while gradually introducing all of the Pilates apparatus used at Abel Wellness.
🌀 How the series unfolds:
Weeks 1–2 | Mat + Reformer Foundations
• Introduction to Pilates principles and movement approach
• Breath, alignment, and foundational exercises on the mat and reformer
• Building body awareness, strength, and control
• Understanding how support (reformer) enhances awareness—not replaces it
Weeks 3–4 | Deepening + Integration
• Continued foundational work across mat and reformer
• Progressing strength, stability, and coordination
• Developing a more responsive core—less bracing, more support
• Refining movement patterns with greater confidence and control
Week 5 | Expanding to Equipment
• Experience how your foundational movement translates beyond mat and reformer
• Guided introduction to the Chair, Fuse Ladder, and Springboard
• Explore how each piece of equipment challenges and supports your body differently
• Build confidence navigating equipment in a supportive, small group setting
🌟 Why this series is special:
✔️ Learn Pilates the way it was intended—step by step
✔️ Build confidence before entering group apparatus classes
✔️ Understand why exercises work, not just how to do them
✔️ Small-group learning with two master instructors
✔️ Perfect for beginners, returning movers, or anyone wanting a deeper Pilates education

By the end of this series, you won’t just know the movements—you’ll understand how your body responds, adapts, and builds strength across different environments.
From here, many clients naturally transition into multiple small group classes each week, where they can continue to:
• Deepen strength, mobility, and coordination
• Experience a variety of equipment (Reformer, Chair, Fuse Ladder, Mat, Springboard)
• Build consistency that supports lasting change
• Feel supported within a like-minded, encouraging community
This is where the work becomes less about learning…
and more about living in your movement with confidence and trust.
