Down, set, hike! It’s time for Gamecock football! The USC football team is taking the field with Richland Library for an afternoon of stories, games, and autographing keepsake posters.
Grab your favorite Gamecock gear and join us at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 17 at Spurrier Indoor Practice Facility for some summertime reading with the USC football players! After reading to the kids, the players will be available for photos and autographing keepsake posters. Be sure to bring your camera!
Every year, USC Gamecock football players help emphasize the importance of reading by participating in Pigskin Poets at Richland Library. Over the last 30 years, hundreds of children have attended. Decked out in their official jerseys, the Gamecock players read books to the children, play games, sign keepsake posters, and encourage the kids to continue reading over the summer. Last year, the players entered the room much as they do on fall Saturday afternoons, to the sounds of cheering fans, 2001 and Sandstorm.
