The piggies are throwing a pool party and you are ALL invited!
On Saturday April 26th from 8a-11am, BPR will be open to the public, allowing people who donate plastic baby pools, fruit/veggies, or monetary donations towards purchasing pools, and all donors can meet our over 195 rescue residents! This isn't a tour but anyone donating will be allowed to interact with our piggies and meet our Director, Danielle Betterman.
Small and medium plastic kiddy pools are essential for our pigs to stay cool all summer long. Because pigs don't sweat, they need fresh clean water plus mud wallows to cool off in this extreme AZ heat. Every summer we go through around 100 pools, as they get beat up by the pigs. The pigs use them for drinking water and to cool off. Plastic kiddy pools can be found at Walmart, Ace Hardware, Target, or Frys. Please ensure they are the small and medium size only, as the large ones are too big for us to fill daily. Additional donations can include fruits/veggies, blankets, or monetary donations towards BPR purchasing pools.
Anyone donating money or a pool will be entered into our Snout Art Raffle - customized snout art from the pig of your choice to be announced on Sunday (winner will be contacted). Additionally we will have BPR shirts, kids books, and totes for purchase. All proceeds go directly back to the piggies food, medical, and shelter expenses.
Gates open at 8am and you can park inside the sanctuary or on 24th street and walk down to our piggy gate. Please do not park in our neighbors parking spaces or on the side of our walkway. Parking attendants and volunteers will be on site to guide and answer questions.
