The State Fair of Texas is proud to welcome back the Battle for the Blue Ribbons! This spring, we’re expanding the fun with a newly added Youth Cooking contest—moved from our Fair-time contests—and the return of our beloved Cakes, Cookies, and Pies categories.Contests will be held in late April and early May. Competing during the Fair is fun but can be challenging for some, so offering select Cooking Contests in the spring helps make participation easier.
We hope you’ll join us for one, or all, of these spring competitions and take your shot at a coveted blue ribbon. Contests are open to amateur home cooks of all ages who register online at BigTex.com/creatives.
Please bring your items to the Embarcadero building, connected to the Creative Arts building, at Fair Park, between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. for check-in. Judging will begin between 11:15 and 11:30 a.m. each day. Once judging ends, winners will be announced, and ribbons will be awarded. Contestants will receive their items back, or they are welcome to donate them.
