Join Concordia’s Jurist-in-Residence, Morton S. Minc, for a discussion with Pierre Pomerleau, Executive Chair of the Board at Pomerleau.
This conversation explores the leadership, governance and decision-making behind some of Canada’s most complex construction and infrastructure projects.

Students in the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science, lawyers, law students and anyone interested in leadership, infrastructure and public management.

Law Meets Engineering Lecture Series
Concordia Jurist-in-Residence Morton Minc hosts a series of lectures designed for students in the Gina Cody School. The series explores the intersection of law, technology and leadership.
Guest speaker
is a leading figure in Canada’s construction industry. He joined Pomerleau in 1989 and succeeded his father, Hervé Pomerleau, as President in 1997. For more than 25 years, he successfully led the family business, transforming it from a regional firm into a national powerhouse recognized for its boldness, innovation and sustainable vision.
Under his leadership, annual revenues grew from $100 million to more than $5 billion by 2023. He turned Pomerleau into one of the largest construction companies in the country, managing over 200 projects annually across Canada, from commercial, residential and industrial buildings to major infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
In August 2023, Pierre stepped down as CEO and now serves as Executive Chairman of the Board. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal (Poly ’87) and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business (UWO, 1989).
