🍇 About the Winery
Pierpaolo Pecorari is a small, family-owned winery located in San Lorenzo Isontino, within the DOC Isonzo subzone of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, just 5 kilometers from the Slovenian border. The Pecorari family has farmed this land for generations, with winemaking roots dating back to the 18th century.
In the 1970s, Pierpaolo Pecorari transformed the estate into a dedicated winery, and today it is co-led by his son, Alessandro. Since 2007, the estate has been certified organic, emphasizing sustainability and minimal intervention.
All grapes are hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and vinified primarily in stainless steel. White wines are aged on the lees with regular bâtonnage to enhance texture and complexity, while red wines are matured in barriques for depth and structure.
