About this Event

We are a collective of young, aspiring Los Angeles artists looking to share a powerful message with the world—the significance of creating connections through art and what art can do for the world as it tumbles through disorder. Pieces and Paintings contains artists who specialize in music, physical & digital art, animation, prose, and technical design.

This project became known as Fusion, a title inspired by Harlem Renaissance figurehead Countee Cullen’s poem, “Any Human to Another,” that conveys the significance of human connection. Each piece that makes up Fusion aims to remind the world of its wholeness by showcasing the power of fusing ideas, emotions, and differences. It begins with 6 pieces of literature written by our writer, Emma Carroll. 6 artists will take 1 piece each and turn it into a visual painting. Our technical team will then digitize each painting and convert it into projections for our in-person installation, featuring original music by Britney Nguyen and Una Sung.
