Pie Day at Lakeview Farmers Market

It’s pie season! On Sunday, August 23, the Lakeview Farmers’ Market hosts an interactive Pie Day event at the historic Small Arms Inspection Building.
Bring a pie to enter in our Community Pie Contest, whip up a delicious little treat at our Banoffee Pie Making Workshop (pre-registration required), and enter the Pie Raffle for a chance to win a free pie!
If you’re in the mood for some artsy fun, hang out at the drop-in crafts table to make some lovely felt pie slices.
- Community Pie Contest -
Enter our beloved Community Pie Contest in one of three categories: Sweet, Savory, or Prettiest. Bake your pies at home and bring them to the venue between 9:00 am and 11:00 am. Entries will close at 11:00 am sharp, and private judging by industry professionals and a community member will be held from 11:00am to 12:30 pm.
Winners will be announced by 1:00 pm.
Bonus points for using ingredients purchased at the Lakeview Farmers’ Market!
All ingredients must be listed in a note and submitted with the pie at the contest table. One winner will be chosen in each category. If your pie must be kept cold we will have a fridge on site to store the pie before judging.

- Pie Day Baking Workshop: Banoffee Pie -
Join us for a fun 1-hour baking experience where you’ll learn how to create a delicious 6-inch banoffee pie from scratch. Each participant will make their own pie to take home while learning essential baking skills and techniques.
During this workshop, you’ll learn how to:
- Make a simple crumb pie crust
- Apply basic knife skills
- Create stabilized whipped cream
- Practice simple whipped cream decorating techniques
For both beginners and seasoned bakers

Visit the market between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm and enter your name in our Pie raffle. One lucky winner will be randomly chosen by 1:30 pm.
Please ensure that you are available on site to collect your free pie before the market closes.
