Pretty as Pie!

Berry season means berry pie season! Join in for an evening of lattice weaving to create a beautiful pie top that will be ready for you to take home and bake!

We will be learning how to create a traditional lattice pie top and also exploring different variations of the classic design.

The course will be structured as follows:

• Introduction and inspiration
• How to weave a lattice pattern (demonstration)
• Practice time with fabric strips
• Working with pie dough to create your own lattice pie top (rolling, cutting and arranging - a portion of dough will be provided for each participant)
• Question time with pie (while pie tops chill to ensure safe transport)
• Take home: pie top, recipe for a summer berry pie (digital)

Everyone is welcome, however, the dough will not be vegan or gluten free (dough ingredients: butter, wheat flour, sugar, salt, water, vinegar).

You are encouraged to bring your own rolling pin and pizza wheel, if you have them (learning with the tools you will be working with at home is always best), but rolling and cutting tools will be provided for each participant, if needed. You will also receive a box to transport your dough home. The finished raw lattice pie top will last for up to a week in your refrigerator.

Water and pie will be provided - you may also bring your own beverages.

The course will be held in English and German, depending on necessity.
