ICCR presents Kuchipudi maestro Bhavana Reddy & Ensemble: A celebrated dancer's artistry lights up Berlin on 19 August!

This concert, presented under the auspices of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), brings to Berlin the intricate footwork, expressive storytelling, and sculptural grace of Kuchipudi, one of India's classical dance traditions, in a performance by Bhavana Reddy, one of India's most celebrated classical dancers, and Ensemble on 19 August. Accompanied by Guru Prasad Raghavendra Prasad on violin, Chandrakant Malapalle on Mrudangam and Adarsh Nair on vocals.

Bhavana Reddy began her international performing career at the age of four and has since sustained more than three decades of uninterrupted international artistic eminence, evolving from a critically acclaimed child artiste into one of India's foremost artistic leaders in Indian classical dance. As the second-generation torchbearer of the internationally celebrated legacy established by Padma Bhushan awardees Drs. Raja and Radha Reddy, she has forged an independent career distinguished by artistic excellence, institutional leadership, scholarship, and cultural diplomacy. Her international engagements have included performances and collaborations with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Sadler's Wells, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Jiří Kylián Foundation, Korzo Theater, Dublin City University, and the Khajuraho Dance Festival, among numerous universities, embassies, and cultural institutions worldwide, and her artistry has been recognised by publications including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The Hindu, and Hindustan Times.

Bhavana is the recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi's Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, and today serves as Permanent Director of Natya Tarangini, Founder & Artistic Director of the International Center for Kuchipudi Dance (ICKD), and Adjunct Faculty at IIT Hyderabad, where she continues to shape the future of Indian classical dance through performance, education, and international collaboration.
