Set in a small Midwestern town on a sweltering Labor Day weekend, Picnic follows the lives of two generations of women preparing for the town’s annual celebration when a handsome drifter arrives, stirring desires, tensions, and dreams long suppressed. As love and longing collide with societal expectations, this timeless American classic by William Inge explores passion, loneliness, and the courage to chase something more.
