Picnic at Railroad Park is a FREE family-friendly day at Railroad Park--join us in celebrating our city's rich and diverse music, food, drinks, neighborhoods, small businesses, makers and artists.
Music: Live music will fill Railroad Park's 17th Street Plaza throughout the afternoon, headlined by Birmingham favorite Alvin Garrett, a Grammy-nominated songwriter, inspirational soul artist, vocalist, producer and businessman whose masterful songwriting, captivating smile and spine-tingling voice have earned him comparisons to soul legends Al Green and Sam Cooke.
Birmingham Showcase: Stroll along 1st Avenue South and visit local merchants, artists, and organizations displaying goods and information, highlighting the diversity and variety of what Birmingham has to offer. You'll find apparel, jewelry, home decor, art, candles and more!
Food Truck Row: What's a picnic without food? While you are welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy, we'll have some of Birmingham's best food trucks offering yummy options to satisfy your appetite. NOTE: Cooler and bag checks will be implemented. Glass and outside alcohol violate Railroad Park Rules. We'll have a cash bar set up to purchase adult beverages for your convenience.
Lawn Games/Children's Activities: A children's area will be filled with fun lawn games to keep the entire family engaged. Games will include Giant Connect-Four, Giant Checkers, Beanbag toss, and more!
99 Neighborhood Celebration: We are excited to recognize Birmingham's 99 neighborhoods and the officers that serve our communities. Please join us at the Main Stage at 3 p.m as we honor our distinguished guests in attendance.
Reserved Picnics: Join us at the Piggly Wiggly VIP Plaza by purchasing a picnic lunch in support of Railroad Park. Located on a picturesque section of Regions Bank 17th Street Plaza this area includes shaded seating, complimentary boxed lunches, complimentary non-alcoholic drinks, and other amenities.
