Pickens County Pets in Pastel: A Christmas Gift Workshop 2025

Join us for a festive art workshop celebrating our beloved pets! Learn to create a paste portrait guided step-by-step - no experience needed. You'll leave with a heartfelt, handmade gift just in time for Christmas! Registration ends November 1 to allow for enough time for your photo to be transferred over and ready for you to draw at the class!

$40 per participant: includes all art supplies - and your own set of pastels to take home, hot cocoa, holiday treats, and expert instruction!

Open to ages 9 and up (adults welcome)!

Please submit the photo you would like to draw to [email protected] upon registration!

• Photo
  Take a good picture of your animal companion.
• Think about what pose best represents the personality of your friend.
• Try taking pictures outside for natural lighting with no back-lighting.
• Make sure it is in focus and you can see details like strands of fur.
• Also, try to get most of their body or head in the photo without disproportions or cutting out parts.

Refund statement: Full payment is due upon registration. No refunds will be issued within three weeks of the start of the event.

Membership requirement: Current 4-H membership is not required for participation in this event, but you must preregister.

Custodial Care: Please note that this event and its coordinators do not assume custodial care of youth in attendance. Adults (parents, guardians, volunteers, coaches, or chaperones) must be present for the supervision of youth participants.
