Sarah was the 1st Place Winner of the 17th Annual Great American Jazz Piano Competition. Ms. Cion has performed with legends such as Clark Terry, Anita O’Day, Carmen Leggio, Bucky Pizzarelli, and many more. Sarah’s debut CD features Antonio Hart and Tony Reedus. Her second CD was released on the Naxos Jazz label, featuring Chris Potter and Billy Hart, and her third features saxophone giant Michael Brecker. Her upcoming CD It’s Time will be released in 2023. Cion’s articles and transcriptions have been published in Piano Today Magazine, and her book Modern Jazz Piano was released by Hal Leonard. Sarah is a contributor to the Steinway Library of Piano Music. Finalist in the John Lennon songwriting competition, her music appears in Cinematic Universe's Thor: The Dark World and Clint Eastwood's The Mule. Versatility and professionalism best describe this twenty-year veteran of the New York and International Music Scene. A vocalist almost from birth, Steve Kaiser grew up in a musical and theatrical household. His grandparents were actors and entertainers, who even made a vocal duet recording together in 1919.

Steve discovered jazz at the age of eleven while listening to the Voice of America Jazz Hour on his new shortwave radio. The broadcast was being beamed overseas to Eastern Europe and Russia, and he would strain to hear the music—Billie Holiday, Errol Garner, and Miles Davis—through the static and interference. He was hooked.

Unable to afford formal music lessons, his voice became his instrument. He sang everything he heard, imitating tenor sax, trumpet, piano, drums, and even bass solos. He then began learning lyrics and standard tunes, discovering artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, and Johnny Hartman.

Electric bass became his first instrument, quickly followed by the upright acoustic bass, which became his other major creative outlet. Instrumental gigs followed, and as players and club owners realized he could also sing, he quickly came into demand as a singer/bassist. It is notable that he excels at the unusual and difficult task of playing an upright bass while singing.

For the last twenty-plus years, he has performed every kind of date imaginable, from clubs in New York to parties, corporate events, recordings, and commercials, often appearing as a featured vocalist or as a singer/bassist.

In 1998, he joined the Tim Ouimette big band as a featured male vocalist, performing with the group for several years, including their Monday night residency at Ye Olde Tripple Inn in Manhattan. In July of 2001, he created a successful series of theme shows, starting with a "Mercer and More" performance—an evening of vocal jazz featuring the lyrics of Johnny Mercer, which ran for several years. He is currently a singer and bassist in a Django Reinhardt, "Gypsy Jazz" trio, performing in clubs and library concerts around the New York area. Steve maintains a vibrant career of small group vocal performances while continuing his work as a bassist and vocalist/bassist. Recently, he has also begun vocal coaching with jazz singers, sharing his gift and giving back to upcoming artists to keep the music alive and vital.

Steve Kaiser has released two recordings, both featuring him solely as a vocalist. The first, "You Are There," features Grammy Nominated piano great Fred Hersch. Steve met and worked with Hersch several times during his ten-year stint with Chesky Records. The recording features a classic jazz quintet with alto sax and includes little-recorded jazz classics such as Billy Strayhorn’s "Daydream" and Michel LeGrande’s "You Must Believe In Spring." He followed this with "Too Hip For the Room," an intimate recording of unusual and exquisite standards featuring guitarist Gene Bertoncini and bassist Michael Moore, recorded late at night at Christ and St. Stephen’s Church in Manhattan.

In the event of a pandemic, rain, snow, or other forms of weather which prohibit a performance, the performance date will be postponed and rescheduled for another date within a reasonable amount of time. If the new date is postponed, a future alternate date will be picked at the discretion of Bethel Jazz and the musical artist. The ticket holder will be notified of postponements, cancelations, and rescheduled dates via email. Tickets are non-refundable and may be transferred to another person in the event a purchaser can not make the rescheduled date. In the event, an artist cancels a date, and Bethel Jazz is unable to reschedule the artist, Bethel Jazz reserves the right to provide a substitute performer of equal quality without notice to the ticket purchaser. If a date is canceled and not rescheduled, Bethel Jazz will provide a refund (in some cases minus the Eventbrite fee) or credit for another performance at the choice of the ticket holder. Bethel Jazz will always do its best to accommodate for changes in seating, table sizes, or changes to tickets.
