Photowalk & Tape Drawing Workshop for Adults
About this Event
Join artists Black Country Type (Tom Hicks) and Claire Buckerfield for a creative, two-part workshop inspired by their collaborative exhibition, Vibration Calibration, currently on display on Floor 4 of The New Art Gallery Walsall.
Part One: Photowalk & Urban Photography
After a guided tour of the Vibration Calibration, join Tom for a photowalk around the local area, exploring the architectural landscape around the gallery.
You’ll have the chance to experiment with urban photography, capturing interesting details, shapes, patterns and textures. Please bring a smartphone, tablet or digital camera to take your photos.
Weather permitting, the photowalk will take place outdoors, so please dress appropriately. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll stay indoors and explore the award-winning architecture of The New Art Gallery Walsall.
Part Two: Tape Drawing with Claire Buckerfield
Inspired by the photographs you’ve taken, Claire will guide you through the process of transforming your images into bold, colourful tape drawings, exploring colour, shape and line, to create your own unique artworks.
All materials for the tape drawing session will be provided. Pre-printed images will be available to use should you not have access to a smart phone/camera.
