Photorama 2025

Join the NJ Federation of Camera Clubs for Photorama 2025, for a day long celebration of photography with professional photographers Rick Gerrity and Padma Inguva, sponsored by Tamron.

During the morning session Rick Gerrity will take everyone on a photographic journey through New Jersey with his program “Photographing New Jersey”. A great travel and photography adventure can begin in your backyard if you take the time to look around the local and rural roads throughout the State. His images will inspire everyone to explore our fascinating state.

During the afternoon session Padma will share techniques for creating stunning floral portraits with a lightbox. She will share information about some of her techniques to bring out the translucency and beauty of the petals. Padma will discuss flower selection, various floral arrangements for better compositions, camera settings etc. A hand-on session with flowers and lightboxes will round out the program.

Rounding out the day will be a hand on opportunity to photograph flowers on a lightbox with Padma. Bring your camera and close up lenses.

ABOUT RICK GERRITY

Rick Gerrity has been a professional photographer based in the NY/NJ metro area for over twenty-five years. He specializes in people, product and location photography throughout the United States and Canada. Clients include BMW, Canon USA, IBM, Panasonic, NYK Lines, Sony, Sharp Solar Energy Solutions Group, Olympus, Tamron, Bausch and Lomb, Oleg Cassini and Becton Dickinson. ABOUT PADMA INGUVA

Padma Inguva’s obsession with floral photography grew from the seeds of tending her father’s garden with him in India. Twenty-five years ago, she emigrated to New Jersey for education and to start a family, cultivating a lush garden in her backyard. Unfortunately, these beautiful blooms only lasted a season, so she picked up a camera, hoping to permanently capture the magic she saw in them. Curiosity gave way to passion as photography became a way to escape the stress and presented a constantly evolving challenge. Over the past decade, she has honed her craft, unafraid of experimentation, humor, or getting a little dirty.

Today, Padma travels the United States presenting floral photography and post-processing techniques which include Lightroom, Photoshop, and plug-ins like NIK and Topaz Labs. She leads hands-on workshops and plans photography events through a meetup group in NJ, NY, and the DC area. In her words: “I hope to inspire people to slow down, unite with the natural world surrounding us, and create little oases in this constantly demanding stressful daily life. I want to set people on a path of joy, and love that comes from the appreciation of the beauty around us, to look at flowers, nature, and life with a different perspective, observe, admire, associate, and create art that lasts far longer than an instant.”
