Meet Carlos, one of our talented photography instructors at Unwind & Design Creative Studio!
Carlos studied photography at Imperial Valley College and has years of hands-on experience. Works with Hour Photo, a well-known photography business serving the Imperial Valley community for decades!
Photography is more than just a job for Carlos. He’s genuinely passionate about it! He loves exploring different techniques, experimenting with lighting, and capturing those special moments that tell a story.
With his professional experience, artistic eye, and love for photography, Carlos brings a wealth of knowledge into every class!
He’s excited to share what he’s learned and help students feel comfortable behind the camera, whether they’re complete beginners or looking to improve their skills!
📷 WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
Every Student is asked to bring their own Camera or Phone.
Every Class is a different topic. Students will learn how cameras work, explore professional photography techniques, and develop their own creative styles!
Camera Basics & Settings: Learn how to use your camera, understand its features, and take control of your photographs!
Lighting & Shadows: Discover how natural and artificial lighting, shadows, and reflections can completely transform an image.
Still Life Photography: Learn how to photograph everyday objects, flowers, food, and creative arrangements using composition and lighting.
Landscape & Nature Photography: Capture beautiful scenery, sunsets, architecture, plants, and the world around you!
Portrait Photography: Explore angles, lighting, backgrounds, and posing to create beautiful portraits.
Creative Photography Effects: Experiment with reflections, silhouettes, motion blur, long exposures, and other fun photographic effects!
Composition & Artistic Perspective: Learn about framing, balance, perspective, leading lines, and how to create visually interesting photographs.
Exposure & Camera Control: Understand aperture, shutter speed, ISO, depth of field, and how to achieve different photographic effects.
Studio Lighting & Equipment: Get familiar with reflectors, lighting setups, backgrounds, and equipment used in professional photography.
Visual Storytelling & Creative Expression: Discover how to capture emotions, tell stories through images, and develop your own photography style!

You don’t need to be a professional photographer to join us!
Unlike classes that just teach you how to take a good picture, these lessons focus on helping you understand how photography works, build your skills, and become more confident and creative behind the camera!
