Join us for this opportunity to meet other photographers and spend all or part of the day at The Washington State Fair in Puyallup.
About this Event

Join us for all, or part of the day, to create photos at the Washington State Fair. The Fair has so many photo opportunities: people, animals, architecture and so much more. Plus, as it gets dark, there are lots of possibilities for long exposure photography.

Onsite:

Michael will be at The Fair from 1:00pm to 9:00pm, but you don’t have to be there for the entire time. Arrive and leave when it works best for you!

Here’s the plan:

We will meet and check-in at the Blue Gate inside The Fair at: 1:00, 3:00, 5:00, 7:00 and 9:00pm.
Each meeting time will be an opportunity to share tips and ideas and ask questions
Michael will share tips about long exposure photography and settings during the evening meeting times

What You’ll Need:

Weather appropriate clothing. Layers suggested if staying trough the evening
Sunscreen is a good idea!
Comfortable for shoes for lots of walking on pavement
Camera and extra batteries and memory cards
Tripod and Neutral density filter, if you’d like to do long exposure photos

Important Notes:

Check for email from EventBrite on day of the meetup if weather is not cooperating and we need to cancel the meetup
Each participant will be responsible for their own Fair admission and any other costs associated with your time at The Fair
Food and beverages at The Fair are expensive! Plan accordingly…

About Your Meetup Coordinator:

Michael Sladek is the Social Media Manager at Kenmore Camera and taught photography at Highline College from 2011-2025. He is the co-host of the Kenmore Camera YouTube photography show, “Between 2 Light Stands” with Vinny Pickens. He enjoys street photography, zoom lenses and minimalism in photos.
