Join professional photographer Aaron Anders for a full-day photography workshop designed to help you master the technical and creative skills needed to capture stunning, story-driven images that freeze a moment in time.
Aaron is the owner of Aaron’s Photography and a former Chief Photojournalist for the Salina Journal. His work has been featured by the Associated Press, USA Today, Farm Progress, Horseless Carriage Gazette, and the High Plains Journal. He has been a proud member of the Kansas Professional Photographers Association and the Great Plains Nature Photographers since 2011.
The day begins in the classroom, where you’ll learn how to operate your camera with confidence and explore the fundamentals of exposure, composition, and lighting. Lunch and admission costs are included.
In the afternoon, you’ll put your new skills into action as we photograph historical reenactors and demonstrations at the Dickinson County Heritage Center and Old Abilene Town. Capture striking scenes such as Texas Longhorn cattle being loaded into the Abilene Smoky Valley Railroad cars, gunfighters robbing the train, a blacksmith at work, and many more authentic moments that bring history to life. We will be celebrating and capturing the Western Frontier as the entire community celebrates the United States Semiquincentennial (United States' 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence).
