A solo road trip around Iceland in winter 2020, photographed weeks before the world shut down.
You're invited to the opening night of Photographs from The Ring Road, an exhibition of fine art landscape photographs by Neil J. Smyth at The Copper House, Dublin 8.
At the end of February 2020, weeks before Ireland's first Covid-19 lockdown, Neil J. Smyth set off alone in a camper van on a ten-day road trip around Iceland's Ring Road. With no schedule but his own, he followed quiet roads, lingered at abandoned buildings and walked out across snow-covered country, stopping to photograph whatever caught his eye. First published in November 2025 in PhotoIreland and The Library Project's TLP Editions series, the work is now shown as framed limited-edition prints at The Copper House, Dublin, from 19 to 22 November 2026.
Join us from 6pm on Thursday 19 November for some drinks and food. Entry is free and everyone is welcome; please RSVP so we know numbers, and bring a friend.
The exhibition continues Friday 20 November, 9am to 1pm, and Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November, 9am to 5pm. No booking is needed for those days.
