Photographer Practice Shoot | Reading, PA

So, you've been learning about photography but need real world practice on real people? Maybe you just need some new faces for your portfolio? We've got you!

Take all the classroom learning and put it into practice in this interactive, fun experience....and, walk away with new images for your portfolio while you’re at it!

Your instructor will give feedback and encouragement if desired but this experience is primarily time for YOU to practice with real clients in a safe environment with friends where it’s OKAY to make a mistake or ask a question, if you have one.

The number of clients provided to practice on will depend on the number of photographers signed up to join in the fun. More photographers = more tickets available for clients = more variety for YOU....so encourage your photographer friends to sign up too!

We encourage you to sign up early to give us more time to recruit enought clients for all the photographers. We make every attempt to provide a 2 to 1 photographer/client ratio.

Clients will be a random mix of families, couples, headshots, and graduates depending on who responds to our client calls. Clients will be provided a style guide and encouraged to "dress their best."

Note: Photographers may sign up to be clients too! It's important to know what its like on the other side of the lens. Plus, having new content photos will provide much value as you grow your business.

If you have attended or heard of a “styled shoot” before, this is similar in that you will have an opportunity to shoot and use the photos for your portfolio but different in that you will be shooting REAL people (not models) who have signed up and paid to be photographed by students of Lancaster Photography School who need instruction and are hoping to put your photos on their walls….so there’s some pressure to do your best!

The other difference is that there will be support available based on the classes provided by Lancaster Photography School.

It is expected that you will have taken and plan to practice the skills learned in at least ONE of the following classes at to join in:

• Natural Light Photography

• Get More from Your Camera

• Composition

• Posing

EVERYONE will be given an opportunity to shoot. We are a friendly, supportive group of people. You will not need to claw your way to the front to get a great shot.

We highly encourage you to regularly attend practice shoots to complete your learning experience!

* Location is completely outdoors in natural light and will be held LIGHT rain or shine. In the event of heavy rain, the shoot will be canceled. You will be notified of any changes via the email address provided when you purchase your ticket.

* If something comes up and you are not able to attend, tickets are transferable to another photographer but NOT REFUNDABLE.
