About this Event

Start the day in the field with outdoor and wildlife photographer Nate Luebbe during a morning photowalk through the forests and shoreline of Seward Park. From songbirds and waterfowl to scenic landscapes and quiet moments in nature, Nate will guide attendees through techniques for spotting wildlife, working with natural light, and creating compelling compositions in an active outdoor environment. Whether you're photographing with a long telephoto lens or simply looking to sharpen your eye for storytelling, this walk is a chance to slow down, observe, and connect with the natural world through photography.

Loaner Gear

Sony representatives will be on location to support Nate and fellow nature walkers with a limited selection of camera gear to loan out. Please have photo ID on hand to qualify for useage.

Meet-Up Spot

We will meet at the Seward Park Audubon Center (5902 Lake Washington Blvd S). It is an ideal, easy-to-find meeting point with restrooms and parking nearby.

Take Transit

This trailhead is accessible by bus! Plan your visit by bus using TOTAGO, or consult the schedule for King County Metro route number 50.

Route number 50 stops at Seward Park a few stops before its terminus at Othello Station. If you’re coming from the north or south, take the Central Link light rail to Othello Station where you can connect with the Route 50 bus line.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Nate Luebbe grew up in the mountains of Colorado, spending nearly every waking moment out in the woods hiking, climbing, and exploring. Although Nate is still semi-feral, he has channeled his love of nature into becoming an Eagle Scout, college graduate, and now works as a full time nature photographer specializing in landscapes and wildlife. Nate combines his past work as an environmental scientist with his storytelling capabilities and uses his photography to encourage responsible wilderness ethics and promote conservation efforts.

Nate has been a member of Sony's ambassador team since 2017. He teaches workshops all over the world, with a particular focus on wildlife and astrophotography. Follow his journey at @nateinthewild on Instagram.
