Join Phoenix Books for a night of mystery featuring Vermont authors Trish Esden, Katy Farber, and Kara Lacey! Have you ever wondered about the inspiration behind your favorite mystery books or how to research crimes (without getting arrested)? Join the discussion about these questions and more at Phoenix Books Burlington on Wednesday, October 15 at 7PM.

About the authors: 

Trish Esden loves museums, gardens, wilderness, dogs and birds, in various orders depending on the day. She lives in Northern Vermont where she deals antiques with her husband, a profession she’s been involved with since her teens. Don’t ask what her favorite type of antique is. She enjoys hunting down old bottles and rusty barn junk as much as she loves fine art and furnishings. Trish is the author of the Scandal Mountain Antique Mystery series. As Pat Esden, she writes contemporary fantasy that’s a touch dark and a bit sexy.

Katy Farber is an assistant professor of education at Saint Michael’s College and former public school teacher in Vermont. She has authored or coauthored four books about education, a picture book called Salamander Sky, and a middle-grade novel called The Order of the Trees. The Board is her debut adult novel.

Kara Lacey is the cozy pen name of Karen Lakis. She lives with her husband in a tiny village nestled in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont—the inspiration for her novels. Kara is a photography enthusiast who also enjoys hiking, skiing, and getting cozy with a good book. When she’s not at her laptop creating havoc for her characters, you will find her rambling through the forest with her husband and spirited Labrador retriever, camera in hand.

TICKETS: $3. Your ticket comes with a coupon for $3 off one of the featured books.  Coupons expire at closing the evening of the event. Tickets can be purchased at the registration link below, or at the door. 

BOOKS: Copies of each author’s recent book will be available at the event.  A book signing will follow the discussion.
