***Course Description:
Previous medical experience is beneficial but not required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Successful completion of this fast-paced, ten-week basic course gives students the requirements to take the National Healthcareer Association’s Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Exam. Once students pass the NHA exam, they are eligible to enter the workforce as a Level 1 (Basic) Phlebotomist.
Overview:
· Two nights a week for five weeks
· Weekly self-study is needed. (Canvas)
Requirements – All students will perform the following sticks on each other:
· 10 capillary (finger) sticks
· 30 venipuncture (arm) sticks
SCRUBS ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS COURSE
