***Course Description:

Previous medical experience is beneficial but not required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Successful completion of this fast-paced, five-week basic course gives students the requirements to take the National Healthcareer Association’s Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Exam - Included in the cost of the class. Once students pass the NHA exam, they are eligible to enter the workforce as a Level 1 (Basic) Phlebotomist.

Overview:

· Two nights Thurs & Fridays 6:00-9:00 pm & Saturdays 9 am - 12 pm for five weeks

Requirements – All students will perform the following sticks on each other:

· 10 capillary (finger) sticks

· 30 venipuncture (arm) sticks

SCRUBS ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS COURSE

There are books that the students can borrow and return at the end of class.
