***Course Description:
Previous medical experience is beneficial but not required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Successful completion of this fast-paced, five-week basic course gives students the requirements to take the National Healthcareer Association’s Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
Exam (Included in the cost of the class). Once students pass the NHA exam, they are eligible to enter the workforce as a Level 1 (Basic) Phlebotomist.
Overview:
· Two nights 6:00-9:00 pm & Saturdays 9 am - 12 pm for five weeks
Requirements – All students will perform the following live sticks on each other:
· 10 capillary (finger) sticks
· 30 venipuncture (arm) sticks
SCRUBS ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS COURSE
There are books that the students can borrow and return at the end of class.
