Welcome to the School of Environmental Sciences Annual Postgraduate Research Conference 2026

It is a pleasure to welcome you all to our annual PGR Conference — a significant milestone in our school since its beginning. Over the years, the format of this conference has evolved: from being part of students’ annual progression to becoming a vibrant showcase of the marvellous research undertaken across the school and beyond.

I am very much looking forward to hearing our first- and third-year (and possibly fourth-year) students present their research, and to engaging with our second-year students as they share their findings at their poster presentations.

PGR students from across the School will pitch at an accessible level

• Year 1 - 3 minute talk
• Year 2 - Poster presentation

Your poster should be size A0 and portrait. Remember you are presenting to researchers across the School, who have very diverse research interests. Given this, try to make sure your poster content is

accessible.

• Year 3 - 8 minute talk
• Abstracts (open to all years) word limit 100-250
