It is that time of year for our annual event honoring our fallen heroes that gave us the ability to live free while sacrificing their lives. During this event, we encourage participation in the CrossFit Murph challenge. This workout is a grueling test of physical and mental endurance that honors the sacrifice and service of Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy along with all of our fallen heroes. The workout consists of a one-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 pushups, 300 air squats, and another one-mile run - all this done while wearing a vest.Understanding this can seem overwhelming as you read through the workout description, we encourage those participating to remember the sacrifice of our heroes to get the opportunity to do this workout in their honor. The best thing about CrossFit workouts like this is you can scale to meet yourself right where you are at to participate in this emotional event and be part of the community.
Our event will start with a heat at 8am and will consist of multiple heats afterwards with a memorial gathering in between to watch the Memorial Day parade as it passes the gym. More details on heat schedule and sign up will be released in the next couple weeks in this page.
Lastly, we will have t-shirt orders available for this event. Each shirt will be $20 to cover the cost of shirt while also provide a small donation to the American Legion Post 162. If you want to increase the amount donated, you can add that amount while at the event. The form to order t-shirts will be in a follow up post on this event page. Be sure to check it out if you want to make the deadline to wear your shirt at the event.
We cannot wait to see all of you back again this year to celebrate and honor those who give us the opportunity every day to live in a free country.
