Iran-Ava ist ein internationales Ensemble von Musikerinnen und Musikern aus verschiedenen Ländern, das 2023 von Yaser Bayat – Komponist und ehemaliger Dozent an der Universität Teheran – gegründet wurde. Das Ensemble verbindet iranische Instrumente mit Instrumenten und Klangwelten aus aller Welt. So treten Setar, Kamancheh und Tombak in einen Dialog mit Piano, Bass, Saxophon und Percussion, und es entsteht ein neuer, interkultureller und zeitgenössischer Klang.

In diesem Programm liegt der Schwerpunkt auf der persischen Dichtung. Werke nach Texten von Mehdi Akhavan-Sales, Hafez und Omar Khayyam werden aufgeführt. Dazu gehört auch das Gedicht „Zemestan“ (Der Winter) von Akhavan-Sales, das in einer neuen musikalischen Fassung die Kälte der äußeren Welt mit inneren Erfahrungen, kollektiven Erinnerungen und aktuellen Migrationserfahrungen verbindet. Alle Kompositionen stammen von Yaser Bayat und schlagen eine Brücke zwischen der klassischen persischen Lyrik und den Fragen und Empfindungen des modernen Menschen in der Migration.

Eine besondere Rolle spielt die weibliche Stimme in diesem Projekt. Mit dem Gesang von Ghazaleh Filinejad bekommt die Perspektive der iranischen Frau in der Migration – zwischen Heimweh, neuer Identität und Selbstfindung – eine eigene künstlerische Dimension.

Iran-Ava ist ein Dialog zwischen Vergangenheit und Gegenwart, zwischen Poesie und Migration, zwischen inneren „Wintern“ und der Hoffnung auf Erneuerung. Das Projekt möchte iranische Instrumente in einem globalen Kontext vorstellen und einen Klang schaffen, der weder ausschließlich traditionell noch ausschließlich modern ist, sondern aus dem Das Konzert besteht aus zwei Teilen mit einer Pause in der Mitte.

Iran-Ava is an international ensemble of musicians from different countries, founded in 2023 by Yaser Bayat — composer and former lecturer at the University of Tehran. The ensemble brings together Iranian instruments with instruments and sound worlds from around the globe. Setar, kamancheh, and tombak enter into dialogue with piano, bass, saxophone, and percussion, creating a new, intercultural, and contemporary sound.

This program focuses on Persian poetry. Works based on texts by Mehdi Akhavan-Sales, Hafez, and Omar Khayyam are performed. Among them is the poem “Zemestan” (Winter) by Akhavan-Sales, which in a new musical setting connects the coldness of the external world with inner experiences, collective memories, and contemporary experiences of migration. All compositions are by Yaser Bayat and build a bridge between classical Persian lyric poetry and the questions and emotions of modern life in migration.

A special role in this project is given to the female voice. Through the singing of Ghazaleh Filinejad, the perspective of the Iranian woman in migration — between longing for home, new identity, and self-discovery — gains its own artistic dimension.

Iran-Ava is a dialogue between past and present, between poetry and migration, between inner “winters” and the hope for renewal. The project aims to present Iranian instruments in a global context and to create a sound that is neither exclusively traditional nor exclusively modern, but emerges from the interplay of different cultures.

The concert consists of two parts with an intermission.
