This course follows the current industry-standard techniques for animal CPR and is designed to prepare participants to provide life-saving first aid and CPR to dogs and cats until veterinary care is available.
Certification: Participants will be certified in Canine and Feline CPR & First Aid.
Note: Bringing a stuffed animal for hands-on practice is encouraged but not required.
Topics and Skills Covered:
Safety procedures when handling sick or injured animals
Performing emergency triage and recognizing life-threatening conditions
Proper restraint and safe transport of animals in crisis
Administering basic first aid during transport
Measuring vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, CRT) and interpreting results
Assembling and using a pet first aid kit
Managing emergencies such as choking, wounds, poisoning, burns, and more
Performing CPR using the most up-to-date, evidence-based methods for dogs and cats
