Join us for a special evening of animation, presented by Toronto International Short Animation Festival (TISAF) and Rangarang World.
This event serves as a tribute to Marjane Satrapi, one of the most influential Iranian-French contemporary artists, filmmakers, and authors of the 21st century. Best known for her autobiographical graphic novel and Academy Award–nominated animated feature Persepolis, Satrapi has brought deeply personal stories of identity, resilience, exile, and freedom to audiences around the world.
The evening begins with a curated program of short animated films by Iranian and Francophone filmmakers, highlighting a diverse range of contemporary voices and artistic styles. Following the short film program, we will present Persepolis (French with English subtitles), directed by Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud.
Supporting Freedom of Expression: A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to PEN Canada to support its work defending freedom of expression and advocating for writers, journalists, and artists at risk.

Its inaugural festival will take place in 2027.
